Report: Region’s counties rank among state’s healthiest

People in Boulder, Broomfield, Larimer and Weld counties are healthier than in most other Colorado counties, according to a report by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.

The institutions released the 2015 report Wednesday as part of an annual report ranking counties in every state. The analysis bases rankings on health outcomes such as premature deaths, adults reporting poor or fair mental and physical health, and low birthweight.

Boulder County ranks as the fourth-healthiest county in Colorado, while Broomfield County took the No. 13 spot. Larimer County ranks No. 15, and Weld County ranks No. 23. Pitkin County, in which Aspen is located, ranked No. 1.

Solar Operations and Maintenance for Commercial Properties

One key qualification to consider when selecting a solar partner to install your system is whether they have an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) or service department. Since solar is a long-term asset with an expected lifecycle of 30 plus years, ongoing O&M should be considered up front. A trusted O&M partner will maximize your system’s energy output and therefor the return on your investment.

The analysis also separately ranked counties based on factors such as high school graduation rates, tobacco use, access to healthy food as well as teen births and obesity. By these measures, Broomfield County ranked No. 2, Boulder County ranked No. 3, Larimer ranked No. 10 and Weld ranked No. 35.

Douglas County, in which Castle Rock is located, ranked No. 1 in the health factors analysis.

“Communities use the rankings to identify and garner support for local health improvement initiatives among government agencies, healthcare providers, community organizations, business leaders, policy makers and the public,” reads the report.
