Jeremy Bloom to keynote Colorado Tech Summit

Jeremy Bloom, who rose to become a chief executive after starring on football fields and ski slopes, will be a keynote speaker at the Colorado Tech Summit, to be held Oct. 19-20 at the Marriott City Center, 1701 California St. in Denver.

More than 40 of Colorado’s most influential leaders will share insights on technology trends at the summit. Discussions will focus on industry-level efforts such as public policy and legislative initiatives, economic development, and tech-talent recruitment.

Bloom, who will give the keynote address on Monday, Oct. 19, was an All-American wide receiver and return specialist for the University of Colorado Buffaloes before being drafted in the fifth round by the National Football League’s Philadelphia Eagles. He played in 2006 for the Eagles and in 2008 and 2009 for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bloom also was a three-time world champion, two-time Olympian and 11-time World Cup gold medalist in freestyle moguls skiing.

Today, Bloom is CEO of Scottsdale, Ariz.-based advertising and marketing company Integrate Inc., and founder of the nonprofit Wish of a Lifetime, which grants wishes for senior citizens.

Keynote speakers on Tuesday, Oct. 20, will be Lt. Gen. Michelle Johnson, superintendent of the U.S. Air Force Academy near Colorado Springs, and Luis Solis, “chief innovation evangelist” at Boston-based management consulting firm Imaginatik plc and author of “Innovation Alchemists: What Every CEO Needs to Know to Hire the Right Chief Innovation Officer.”

Other speakers will include Sphero CEO Paul Berberian, JumpCloud CEO Rajat Bhargava, Galvanize executive vice president Ben Deda, Level 3 Communications senior vice president Paul Savill, Sierra Nevada Space Systems CEO Mark Sirangelo and Vail Resorts chief information officer Robert Urwiler.
