WomenGive, a program of United Way of Larimer County, was started in Larimer County in 2006 as an opportunity for women in our community to come together to help other women.

Good Day Chocolate co-founder Simeon Margolis said the ramp-up should lead to more hiring. The company is also in the process of contracting out its manufacturing to achieve greater scale.

“We’re going to be accelerating growth,” Margolis said.

Good Day Chocolate makes three products currently — one that provides an energy boost, one that helps with sleep, and one that helps calm anxiety. Margolis said a fourth should be coming by the end of the year.

Margolis founded the company with Andy Goldman in 2012. Margolis brought a background in sales and marketing, as well as startups and the music industry. Goldman, meanwhile, is a physician who had been making sweets with functional medications, an endeavor that eventually evolved into making responsibly sourced dietary supplements.

Margolis said that the duo felt that many supplements on the market were disingenuous in what they promised, adding that Good Day Chocolates are made entirely with non-GMO and gluten-free ingredients.

“We just thought there was an opportunity to do things more transparently and more responsibly,” Margolis said.

The company has three employees, as well as a number of contractors who help out right now. Margolis said he expects to add a couple of more full-time sales and marketing employees by fall.

The company, based on the third floor at 1035 Pearl St., doesn’t disclose revenue. But Margolis said that the company intends to donate a portion of proceeds to provide facial plastic surgeries for children in developing countries who need cleft palate surgery, as well as victims of domestic violence in this country and American war veterans who need such surgeries.
