BOULDER — Solar-electric system installer Namaste Solar, which has been expanding its footprint over the past few months, is seeking to raise up to $5 million in private equity, according to a filing made Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Officials for Boulder-based Namaste declined to comment Monday while the funding round is ongoing.

Namaste, founded in 2005, designs, installs and maintains solar-electric systems for homeowners, businesses and government entities alike.

In March, the company opened a branch office in White Plains, N.Y., dedicated to commercial solar projects. That was followed in July by the opening of a Ventura, Calif., office.
